Leah Martin
Leah Martin is a paralegal who supports both the pre-litigation and litigation departments of the firm. In particular, she has extensive experience working with expert witnesses and on complex personal injury cases.
She is a 2009 graduate of the Columbia University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Russian Language and Culture. While an undergraduate, Ms. Martin studied abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia.
She previously worked as both an intern and a trade fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee. She also spent a summer as a law clerk at Abbott Nicholson, PC, a business law firm in Detroit, Michigan. Ms. Martin plans to attend law school in the near future.
Erin Meegan
Erin Meegan is a member of the firm's Pre-Litigation Department. She is a 2006 graduate of Canisius College, in Buffalo, New York, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law Studies.
While an undergraduate, Ms. Meegan studied abroad in India, El Salvador, and Honduras and spent time in seven European nations. Ms. Meegan comes to the firm with substantial experience in politics, having worked as a Legislative Aide to the Buffalo City Council and for numerous local, state, and national campaigns. Previously, Ms. Meegan was a Legislative Associate for the New York Public Interest Research Group, New York State’s largest non-partisan research and advocacy organization. In the future, Ms. Meegan intends on exploring career opportunities in international relations and law.
Ashley Goodale
Ashley is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Politics.
While an undergraduate, Ashley spent a summer semester at Oxford University, Exeter College, attending an Honors program on British Law, Politics, and Society. She has also worked as an intern on Capitol Hill for Congressman C.A. Ruppersberger (D-MD). In the future, Ashley plans to attend graduate school to pursue a degree in Public Administration.
Tareq Malikyar
Tareq Malikyar is a paralegal who supports both the pre-litigation and litigation departments, giving him experience in a wide area of the firm’s practice.
Mr. Malikyar graduated from the University of Virginia in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics, concentrating in Roman studies as well as a minor in Mathematics. He hopes to attend law school in the near future.
India Gonzalez
India Gonzalez is currently the Office Manager at the firm. She attended the University of Maryland at College Park graduating in 2006 earning a Bachelors Degree in English with a concentration in Language, Writing, and Rhetoric.
While studying at Maryland, she interned in the Civil Division at the US Department of Justice from 2005 to 2006 as well as the States Attorney's Office in Upper Marlboro where she assisted victims of domestic violence. She went on to intern at Cordier Law Offices in 2006 as a law clerk. In the future, Ms. Gonzalez plans to attend law school.
Linda Mak
Linda Mak is the manager of the firm's Pre-Litigation Department. She previously spent five months working in the firm's litigation department, giving her experience with a full range of personal injury matters.
Ms. Mak graduated from James Madison University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a dual minor in Philosophy and Sociology. As part of her courseload, Ms. Mak studied U.S. civil and international law.
Michael Robinett
Michael Robinett is an associate attorney with the firm, where he works on a variety of personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, civil rights, and premises liability. Prior to joining Simeone & Miller, LLP, Mr. Robinett worked with the ACLU's National Prison Project on a high profile federal civil rights case.
Mr. Robinett is a 2005 graduate of The George Washington University Law School, where he was a quarter-finalist in the Mock Trial competition and participated in the Street Law program, through which he taught legal issues to school children in Washington, D.C. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of California at Berkeley in 2002, where he studied American History and wrote his thesis on the American Civil Rights movement. Mr. Robinett is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
Adrienne R. Kerwood
Adrienne Kerwood focuses primarily on personal injury law, including automobile accidents and premises liability. She graduated from The George Washington University Law School in 2005. Prior to joining Simeone & Miller on a full-time basis, Ms. Kerwood worked as a law clerk at the firm for one year.
Ms. Kerwood graduated Magna Cum Laude from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2002. While at Villanova, Ms. Kerwood worked as a research intern at the Center for Neurovirology and Cancer Biology and as a law clerk for the law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP in Philadelphia.
Brian K. Snyder
Brian Snyder is an attorney practicing in the areas of Personal Injury, including automobile accidents, product liability, premises liability and medical malpractice.
Prior to joining Simeone & Miller, Mr. Snyder worked as a law clerk for two Administrative Patent Judges for Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.
Mr. Snyder graduated from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2006, with an emphasis in Intellectual Property law. After graduation, Mr. Snyder worked for several prominent D.C. law firms on large scale litigation projects. Mr. Snyder was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and is a native of the area. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Snyder received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland in Genetics and Molecular Biology and spent several years working for the National Institutes of Health on the Human Genome Project.
Mr. Snyder is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Craig D. Miller
Mr. Miller manages Simeone & Miller's litigation division. Mr. Miller has appeared on the nationally broadcasted "The Sam Donaldson Radio Show - Live in America" as well as on the nationally syndicated "The BQ View." His cases have been the subject of stories in The Washington Post and the local news. He has also been invited to appear on "The Dr. Phil Show" and "The John Walsh Show." He is an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney (5.0 out of 5.0), the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell for legal skill and ethics. In addition, he was chosen in 2012 as a SuperLawyer for Washington, DC and has achieved a 10.0 Superb rating (highest possible rating) with Avvo.com.
Mr. Miller serves on the Board of Governors for the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association where he is the Co-Chair of the Membership Committee. He is a member of both the Multi-Million Dollar and Million Dollar Advocates forums, organizations whose membership is limited to attorneys who have recovered $1,000,000.00 or $2,000,000.00 or more, respectivley, in a single case
Craig Miller is most proud of his volunteer work on behalf of the family of a man who died at the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. As part of the Trial Lawyers Care program, he successfully represented the family on a pro bono basis. Mr. Miller applied for compensation from the Victim's Compensation Fund on the family's behalf, coordinated an expert review to estabilish economic damages, and at the hearing he he obtained proper compensation for the family's loss.
Mr. Miller has served as lead trial counsel on a variety of sophisticated and controversial matters, including cases in which he is specially retained by other law firms for litigation purposes. His practice focuses on complex litigation in catastrophic injury cases including medical malpractice, class actions, nursing home abuse, auto accidents, premises liability, and products liability. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia trial lawyers associations and is admitted to practice law in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. In addition, he is admitted to the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Miller maintains an active trial practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He has litigated approximately thousands of cases and has served as lead trial counsel in nearly 100 jury trials, involving medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, and auto accidents. Mr. Miller has litigated cases involving death, paralysis, traumatic brain injury, birth injuries, cancer, amputation, vertebral fracture, disc herniation, and other serious personal injuries in approximately 30 counties throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In the process, he has obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.
Prior to co-founding Simeone & Miller, Mr. Miller was the Senior Associate at Cohen & Cohen, P.C., where he was honored as Cohen & Cohen's Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2000. While there, Mr. Miller oversaw the firm's litigation training program for instructing junior attorneys in trial skills, discovery tactics, and negotiation strategies. He also at one time managed the firm's Pre-litigation Department.
Mr. Miller is a 1997 graduate of The George Washington University School of Law. During law school, Mr. Miller wrote for The Advocate, the student newspaper. He was also a member of the Trial Court Board and the Student Bar Association. In 1994, Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in Mathematics and Political Science from Indiana University at Bloomington.
Thomas J. Simeone
Thomas J. Simeone was named one of the 500 leading Plaintiff lawyers in the United States by Lawdragon Magazine. He is a member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, organizations whose membership is limited to attorneys who have recovered $1,000,000.00 or $2,000,000.00 or more, respectively, in a single case. Mr. Simeone is one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Washington, D.C. as selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a Justice Fellow in the American Academy of Medical Experts and has an AV rating by Martindale-Hubble.
The Harvard Law Review described a class action settlement that Mr. Simeone negotiated as "historic." (Vol. 118, No. 5) and the federal judge in the case described the settlement as "groundbreaking." Mr. Simeone was a featured speaker in a panel discussion on civil rights at the 20th International Convention held by Self-Help for Hard of Hearing People, an international advocacy group.
Mr. Simeone has appeared on Fox News as a legal commentator on numerous occasions. He has also provided legal analysis for E! Entertainment's online website, as well as several other blogs and websites, regarding a variety of topics, including the legal issues regarding use of Facebook and other social media sites, the relationship between lawyers and accountants, and the criminal conspiracy allegations by actor Randy Quaid.
He appeared in the Washington Post in regard to the settlement of a federal class action suit brought on behalf of disabled persons. He appeared on WJLA Channel 7 and Univision in regard to a wrongful death case he filed on behalf of two unarmed men who were shot by an off duty police officer. He has also appeared in The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, ESPN.com, and TheSportingNews.com. In 1999, Mr. Simeone was WUSA Channel 9's "Newsmaker of the Day" for a class action case he filed against PEPCO. He has been interviewed by radio stations WMAL in Washington and WHPC-FM in New York and on cable television station CTV-15 in Washington.
Mr. Simeone is an Adjunct Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School, where he teaches Trial Advocacy. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Simeone has served as lead trial counsel in several cases resulting in large jury verdicts and settlements, in both state and federal court, including class actions, automobile accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, product liability, employment law and civil rights.
He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Simeone is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in each of his three years of study. While at Columbia, he published an article on New York child custody law in The Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems and served as an editor of that journal. He is currently Secretary of The Columbia Law School Association of Washington, D.C.
Mr. Simeone received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, where he was named to the Dean's List for 6 semesters, served on the School of Management's Dean's Advisory Board, and received the New York State Society of C.P.A.'s Career Placement Award.
After graduating from Syracuse, Mr. Simeone worked for Price Waterhouse, where his clients included USA Today, The National Gallery of Art, and The World Bank.
Before starting Simeone & Miller, Mr. Simeone was a partner at Cohen & Cohen and an associate attorney with Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) in Washington, D.C. At Cohen & Cohen, Mr. Simeone supervised the firm's litigation practice and was lead trial attorney for a caseload of sophisticated personal injury and civil rights matters. At Shaw Pittman, Mr. Simeone worked in the firm's litigation department on cases involving securities law, commercial litigation, criminal law, and energy law.
