Our client was a resident of Waldorf, Maryland who was employed by a heating and air conditioning company to install air conditioning units at a restaurant in Washington, DC. One day, as he was standing on a scaffolding unit, it collapsed; causing our client to fall 12 feet to the ground. As a result of his fall, our client suffered several significant injuries, including a right calcaneal fracture. The scaffolding was set up by one of the other many companies working on the site. Not knowing exactly which company was responsible, or if more than one was responsible, we filed suit on our client’s behalf against 14 different companies who could have been involved. After the lawsuit was filed, the responsible party came forward and we were able to obtain an immediate settlement without the need for depositions or significant litigation.
