Sarah Cullum

Associate

Sarah Cullum is an Associate Attorney at Simeone & Miller, LLP, where she handles a variety of personal injury matters. Prior to joining Simeone & Miller, Ms. Cullum worked as an Associate for a mid-size firm in the DC Metropolitan Area, where she was involved in the litigation of cases involving premises liability, products liability, motor vehicle collisions, and medical malpractice resulting in significant injuries. Ms. Cullum has substantial litigation experience, including drafting briefs, motions, complaints, pleadings, discovery, demand letters, and mediation statements and enjoys discussing all aspects of her cases with clients to ensure they are well aware of the status of their claims.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Ms. Cullum is a graduate of both Tulane University Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor, and the American University Washington College of Law, where she received her Master of Laws in Advocacy (LL.M.). While at Tulane Law, Ms. Cullum was the Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Law & Sexuality, the official journal of the National LGBT Bar Association, as well as a student attorney in the Juvenile Litigation Clinic, where she handled delinquency matters for clients as young as twelve in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. She also participated in two legal study abroad programs at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany and at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College, United Kingdom. In her third year, Ms. Cullum had two articles published, her co-authored case note, Brooke S.B. v. Elizabeth A.C.C.: A Long Overdue Victory for Estranged Same-Sex Parents in New York’s Highest Court, and her article, Attorney Sexual Misconduct: The ABA Update of Model Rule 8.4 and the Creation of Model Rule 1.8.

Upon graduating from Tulane Law, Ms. Cullum moved to Washington, DC, where she accepted a fellowship with the Stephen S. Weinstein Trial Advocacy Program at American University. During her fellowship, Ms. Cullum was heavily involved in litigation and trial advocacy courses, where she honed her skills as a zealous advocate for her future clients. As part of this program, Ms. Cullum also externed as a law clerk for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, assisting with defending clients charged with class one felonies, and worked as a research assistant for the Associate Director of American’s Trial Advocacy Program, where she judged mock trial and moot court competitions, created rubrics for trial advocacy courses, and generally helped in assessing how to improve both the civil and criminal trial advocacy curriculum.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cullum graduated with honors from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology. She currently resides in Arlington, Virginia with her partner.
