$114,000

Civil Rights

A client in Baltimore, Maryland worked as a consultant and was requested to travel out of town with another employee. However, she explained to her supervisor that she did not feel comfortable traveling alone with the colleague due to his previous inappropriate sexual comments. Despite our client’s concerns, her employer required her to travel with the other employee. While on the trip, our client was sexually assaulted by the other employee. Although our client had dinner and drinks with the aggressor the same night and the police investigation found insufficient evidence to prosecute him for sexual assault, we were able to settle the claim for $114,000 prior to filing any lawsuit, which our client wished to avoid due to the private nature of the matter.
