Pedestrians who are injured in an accident can bring claims just as drivers can, just as people on bicycles can.
Motorcycles, pedestrians are held to the same rules of the road as anybody else.
If they're outside of a crosswalk, that may be used against them. If they're running into traffic, that may prevent them from bringing a claim.
So they have to comply with the rules like anybody else.
But if they are injured, those injuries tend to be more severe, and they tend to be of higher value. Not always, but many times getting struck by a car directly in your body can cause a very serious injury, and then people hit the pavement very, very hard.
So pedestrian injuries can be very, very significant, sometimes more so than someone in a car who has the protection of a car.
So if you're struck as a pedestrian, or on a bicycle, or a scooter, any of those type of equipment that's now available today, you may have a claim.
And it's very important to do just what a car driver would do. Call the police, contact a lawyer immediately, seek prompt medical attention, and that is the best way to make sure that you're taken care of if it's due to someone else's fault.
