A lot of times we are asked, I just slipped and fell. What can I do?

The most important thing, by far, after a slip and fall is to first figure out what it was that you slipped and fell on.

In order to have a case, we must be able to show that the property owner knew about the problem, created the problem, or that the condition existed long enough that they should have known about it.

If you do not know what caused you to fall, it becomes very difficult to prove any of that.

Once you determine what caused the fall, take pictures.

Almost everyone has a cell phone, and photos are extremely important.

Take as many pictures as you think you need, and then take a few more.

Also look for witnesses.

Not just people who saw you fall, but people who can testify about what the dangerous condition was and what actually happened.

Those steps can make a major difference in a slip and fall case.
