Recently, Craig D. Miller, co-founder of Simeone & Miller, LLP, was published in the January/February 2024 issue of GPSolo Magazine. In his article titled, “Choosing, Preparing, and Presenting Witnesses at Trial: Direct and Cross,” Mr. Miller discusses how the selection, preparation, and testimony of percipient and expert witnesses is arguably the backbone of most civil cases. He goes on to recommend that attorneys prepare every case assuming that it will go to trial. With this mentality, an attorney may increase or decrease the amount of settlement, depending on the side they are representing, along with being fully prepared if the case happens to proceed to trial.
