School Injury
We represented a 12 year old boy and his mother after the boy opened an unlocked door in an abandoned area of his school and climbed above the ceiling rafters. As he and his friends explored the space, the young boy fell through the ceiling, falling 20 feet to the ground. As a result of the fall, he sustained fractures, and other injuries including bruises, cuts and muscle sprains. The school initially denied liability, but we contacted an expert witness who specializes in adolescent brain development to testify that the child did not act unreasonably for his age. As a result, the school offered a full settlement to the family.
