What to Do After a Slip and Fall: Steps That Strengthen Your Claim
If you’ve just slipped and fallen, you’re probably wondering what to do next. In this video, we walk you through the steps that matter most. We explain why identifying exactly what caused your fall is critical to proving your case: to recover damages, we have to show that the property owner knew about the hazard, created it, or that it existed long enough for them to have discovered it. We also share why taking plenty of photos right away (and then taking a few more) can make or break your slip and fall claim, and why identifying witnesses, not just to the fall itself, but to the surrounding circumstances, is just as important. Take as many pictures as you think you should take — and then take a couple more. Also, look for witnesses — not just the people that witnessed why you fell or how you fell, but people who can talk and testify to what it is that actually happened.
